Shear Perfection Academy was founded in 2014 in White House, Tennessee, with a mission to educate, transform, and graduate skilled, confident beauty professionals ready to thrive in the industry. As the Academy grew and relocated to Nashville, it expanded its vision—raising standards while remaining deeply committed to student success and community impact. Since then, Shear Perfection Academy has experienced tremendous growth and proudly stands as a respected force in beauty education.

Lance Benedict, Managing Partner & Campus Director, brings 34 years of healthcare experience to the Academy. A retired physician with a background in education, Dr. Benedict previously taught high school and college-level science courses and co-founded Industry Lab Diagnostic Partners, LLC, a multi-state clinical lab. Now in a dedicated administrative role, he is focused on helping Shear Perfection Academy become the top beauty school in the nation.
Elvin Mejia, Managing Partner & Director of Admissions, is a Master Barber and Cosmetologist with a strong reputation for excellence in the industry. Passionate about education and mentorship, Mr. Mejia continues to pass on his knowledge to future generations of Cosmetologists, Estheticians, Nail Technicians, and Instructors, ensuring that every student leaves empowered and career-ready.
